After years of living in this little house
In a safe neighborhood
With the doors unlocked
I got deadbolt locks installed.
Do I feel any safer? Not really.
Do I have anything I need to protect? Not really. Any “thing” can be replaced
And I’m not sure...
Are the locks to keep others out? …
Or keep me in?
It is another key to carry.

This place ain't rural, ain't friendly, ain't anything no more. Deadbolts are needed -- that's not good, but that you have them IS good.
As long as someone else isn't locking YOU up...
