What was the cause of death?

It is a curious fact that when someone’s name hits the obituary pages, people want to know the ‘cause of death’.

Now most memorials will give the person’s history and accomplishments and maybe down in the bottom say something about making a donation instead of flowers to some organization. That might give a clue?

Yet people want to know the details? Was it an overdose or suicide? Was it a DUI into a tree? Was it drowning or an electrocution or a murder or cancer? Dying of natural causes does not fulfill the inquisition of curiosity.

Our species likes to gossip about the dead. There will be stories to share and rumors’ to expand upon.

A person’s notable accomplishments can be overshadowed by the ‘cause of death’.

I’d recommend in the Memorial or Obituary the ‘cause of death’ should be a house falling out of the sky and your red ruby slippers stolen.
