AIR

It seems we (world occupants) just can’t get along with each other. Either ‘war’ is the most popular game ever or we just like going around beating on each other. Through history we have followed the bullies who make other suffer only to rise up and find another one. Many times these disagreements are caused by what is called ‘religion’.

Now everyone knows we are hesitant to associate with someone who doesn’t look and sound or eat the same as us. That fear has been learned through the years from those who want our land or our food or more likely our women.

So we start to discriminate against those who dress different or of different skin color or follow a different faith.

Now the way I understand it, the Homo sapiens (that’s us) couldn’t figure out where the sun came from or where it went at night or thunder or rain or why the leaves went away when it got cold and then came back when it got warm. This is some big stuff that needs some answers.

So we created deities; Gods if you will, to praise for the crops and the warmth and birth of babies and the grieving of the dead. Festivals and feast were created to celebrate these Gods. Of course we had to have some spirits to enhance the over indulgence that would turn into debauchery.

Then the priest (for you have to have priest to keep you informed about these separate Gods) would battle for status and proper holiday funding until someone came up with the “One God” theory.

That seemed like a good solution to the infighting until the prophets started renaming ‘their’ God from a regional culture rules and regulations. Then we were back to the schoolyard bullies.

Fully understanding the wisdom of having some unknown smoke and mirrors explain all the unexplainable I truly believe we must have a God. From the money we spend on this religion stuff and the emotions invoked by his/her/it’s name, we need a God.

Since we already tried the God of Sun and the God of Corn and the God of Money, I suggest we scrap of these false faiths and come up with something new. Something more universal that we can all agree on.

My suggestion is AIR.

It doesn’t have to have a persona or a graven image or even a logo or brand. AIR fits all the requirements of a faith worshipping deity. Like water, (don’t get too far afield) AIR is necessary by everything on the planet, including those cute kangaroos. AIR is all around us and is invisible which fits the description of unknown ominous presence.  When we are born, we are not declared living until we breathe AIR and when we don’t, we die.

Even with this logical solution to the hatred we tend to show each other with the excuse that religion defamed it’s own rules, we weak humans will probably come up with some other reason to kill each other.

Will using an AIR fresher be more regal than not? What will be the punishment for spoiling the AIR? Will ending pollution be the solution to war?

One day, this bubble we live in will pop and ALL OF US will go down together.
