White Jesus Black Judas Black Jesus White Judas

I’ve read the book. I’ve heard the preaching’s. I’ve seen the movies. I’ve seen the paintings.

Through the years ‘this’ was the face of Jesus. It was on all the hymnals. It was on the walls of all the grandmothers. This is how Jesus looked.

Don’t know why this Middle Eastern son of a deity and a carpenter should look like a bearded white hippy?

Warner Sallman was the best-known Christian artist of the early twentieth century painted his impression of the face of ‘Jesus’ and Christian advertising took over.

If this was ‘Jesus’ the Son of God, then ‘God’ must be that old white haired bearded Caucasian dude who Michelangelo painted on the ceiling.

We are a visual species and understand an apple by what it appears to us (either red or green).

With the latest discussion of social equality, why was Jesus white?

There is not much written about this guy and what was written never described his appearance. There were no selfies or even audio recordings so the words written and re-written told of a man who hung around with a dozen other men, taught a way of life to his followers, never married or fathered any children and was formerly executed by the rulers of the land.

No one ever asked if Jesus was gay? Was Jesus impotent? Was Jesus some troublemaker and was dealt with by the authorities? Was Jesus white?

As our species evolved to different lands and different climates our skin tone changed and adapted. The body still has two hands and two feet and our heart is in the same spot, but our covering is different from each other.

Even different languages didn’t separate us as much as the color of our skin.

What would the houses of God say about a ‘White’ Jesus and a ‘Black’ Judas? How much bigotry could be based on that dichotomy?

What if the REAL Jesus was as white as depicted in all the movies? What if a man who worked outside in a temperate climate was a bit darker?

Did Judas have God on his side when he sealed the deal with a kiss?
