Back in the saddle again

The snow is finally melting. 40-50's today. Tomorrow higher.

So I sit alone in the cold, and watch the ice melt. The white blanket of clean disappears.

The trees they did bend, but did not break. Bowing under the winter blanket. They rise to dance again.

The path is clear. The crunchy rocky road is back to nature and only the sand and grit is left. A weekend rain should clear this up.

It feels good to be back in the saddle again.

Legs stretch and push the peddles against the road.

Mounds of ice piles the edge against the flowing melt.

Stop for the parade of SUVs in the dark, for they have ventured out in this winter wonderland with their 4-wheel drive at 10 mph and Starbucks in the cup holders

The smart ones, took public transport. Buses. Big buses. Lots of empty seats and on time.

But it is good to be back in the saddle and ride again.

Routines can be delayed, but not broken.
