Conspiracy

With all the fake news and weird memes and posted comments, what is to believe?
Everyone has an opinion or take on an event or a situation (as they call murders and wrecks now) and if repeated enough, it starts to sound like, maybe the truth. Throw some numbers and percentages in there, show a chart or two and then have someone else with a long title that sounds important agree with the concept and you have a conspiracy.
A conspiracy theory is an explanation of an event or situation that invokes a conspiracy by sinister and powerful actors, often political in motivation, when other explanations are more probable. The term has a pejorative connotation, implying that the appeal to a conspiracy is based on prejudice or insufficient evidence. Conspiracy theories resist falsification and are reinforced by circular reasoning: both evidence against the conspiracy and an absence of evidence for it, are re-interpreted, as evidence of its truth, and the conspiracy becomes a matter of faith rather than proof.
Research suggests, on a psychological level, conspiracies ideation—belief in conspiracy theories—can be harmful or pathological, and is highly correlated with psychological projection, as well as with paranoia, which is predicted by the degree of a person's Machiavellianism. Conspiracy theories once limited to fringe audiences have become commonplace in mass media, emerging as a cultural phenomenon of the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
Now we all know no one has ever walked on the moon. It was all done in Nevada and we all fell for it. We know that JFK was not shot by some super sniper from above but by the following secret service men in the car following, then the coup de grace was done by Jackie herself before she climbed on the trunk and slid the gun to the agent climbing aboard. We are sure there were more people at Trump’s inauguration but the photo was edited and there are thousands outside watching big screens because they can jam into the area. We also know the Tooth Fairy leave a coin under our pillow and Santa only comes once a year.
Enjoy your social media.
